Motivated in to the off-season

Back home again I had the first chance today on my bike to really realize what has happened the last weeks. I enjoy these m>oments alone, in which you can finally come to peace with the world.

I am so very proud of the World Champion titles and especially of that for the individual time trial. I am taking an unbelievable amount of motivation into the off-season and am looking forward to what is to come.

Things didn’t go as well for us in the Worlds road race. But of course you saw that. In the decisive situation I was just too far back to be able to react. I must criticize myself for that. Dege was the only one of us to make the jump, but was unfortunately thrown back by a mechanical. But the hope that the groups would get back together again was in vain, because the Belgians were so dominant. That was a World Championship race to forget for us.

On October 24 is the first team meeting with Katusha at Lake Garda. And slowly I will start my training-free time.

Yesterday was the Tour presentation. It was already known that it would start with a time trial in Düsseldorf. Now we know there will be another one, which of course pleases me especially. It could be good for me because of the profile, because it only has one climb. But we will see. I will of course put my focus on the time trials. More stage details are not known at this time.
