5 great years at Etixx - Quick-Step coming to an end

You should leave when things are best. I am carrying this thought with me as I think of my departure from my current team Etixx-QuickStep. The wins in the individual and team time trials at this year’s World Championships were quite literally a golden ending to five great years with my team! So I am leaving with one laughing eye and one crying eye. I had so much support and trust. Patrick Lefevere and his whole team always believed in me and made so very much possible. Thank you!

I think back on many great races, wins and titles. Outstanding were of course the four Tour de France stage wins, holding the yellow jersey and the six Worlds gold medals in individual and team time trials.

The riders, the support staff, the whole environment – everyone always worked professionally to bring in the best possible results. Etixx - Quick-Step will always have a large place in my athlete’s heart. I wish the team all the best for the future and hope for exciting duels in the coming season.
