In yesterday’s stage at the Tour of Belgium I had to go really deep for the first time in a long time. Recently I had been training a lot and quietly, that is classically putting in the kilometers. But it was worth it. After a relatively easy first stage, the stage yesterday had a Classics character. We had to go up the Kemmelberg, amongst others. The team brought me well into the finale and then I was able to get into the lead group. I just didn’t have it for a sprint, so I lost 3 seconds but now I am eighth overall and go into today’s time trial optimistically. I roll off the ramp shortly after 16:00. The we will see how good I am now. The course is about as log as the Tour opener in Düsseldorf, and so will be a good test.
